A friend of mine now owns and runs the Brooklyn Heights Cinema, an independently owned and operated two screened cinema. He shows a wide range of good movies and an upscale concession that offers a cappuccino bar, teas and sweets from Colson Patisserie in addition to fresh popcorn with real butter, soda and a collection of fun candy.
Most movie houses now all show the same mass-produced stuff in an uncomfortable environment with expensive but crappy food. The Brooklyn Heights Cinema presents excellent movies in style with good atmosphere and good food.
